Prices of Sydney Self Storage Units

It is quite common to find yourself stuck with more personal items than you expected and when this happens, hiring a self storage unit is definitely your safest bet. However, what most people don’t know is the prices of storage facilities may vary greatly depending on a number of factors listed below.

Operational Period

Some companies will charge rent commensurate with the exact number of hours the unit is operational during the day. This simply means that you have to pay extra cash for facilities operating overtime.

Amenities

To avoid theft and unwanted situations, firms go the extra mile to incorporate a few amenities such as an on-site dumpster or in-house manager residing in the facility full time. While such luxuries sound great for those storing valuable items, you’ll likely have to fork out some extra change to enjoy them.

Unit Size

It is quite obvious that the larger your unit is, the more expensive it gets. Inquiring about the different sizes before making a move would, therefore, be in your best interest. This deters you from renting a space larger than what you need.

Climate Control

If you have some delicate items you need to be stored under perfect conditions, you’ll, of course, need a climate controlled storage unit. This is a luxury you’ll have to pay for, meaning the rent will be significantly higher at the end of the day.

Access to the Unit

In real estate, it’s all about location, location, location. The same applies to ones where easier access to a unit translates to extra pay. The ones located outside with roll-up garage doors are way better than units placed inside a building.

In a nutshell, the more features you get, the higher the rent is likely to be. It all boils down to the exact features you need.

5×10 Units (50 sq. ft.): These units serve as the ideal for storage of a studio apartment’s contents. This includes a number of boxes, small mattress, a motorcycle, kitchen appliances and some chairs.

10×5 Units (50 sq. ft.): It is more or less the same as the above unit only that it has a wider entry point and a shallow depth. It makes accessing your items easier though.

5×15 Units (75 sq. ft.): This size serves as the ideal for storing the contents of a single bedroom apartment. In a nutshell, it can easily hold furniture including a small dining set, couch and some chairs, bicycles, sporting equipment, business merchandise and a few seasonal items just to name a few.

10×10 Units (100 sq. ft.): Can easily fit the contents of a 2 bedroom property. Ideal for storing larger appliances, entertainment center, dining room set, king-size mattress, and furniture.

10×20 Units (200 sq. ft.): We are now entering a zone of sizes ideal for motor vehicles including boats. This 200 sq. ft. space can easily hold a small car with some room to spare for your spares. It can also perfectly fit the contents of a four-bedroom house with additional space to store your sporting equipment and other medium-sized items.

10×25 Units (250 sq. ft.): A 250 sq. ft. unit can easily hold a small boat and trailer with some extra space at your disposal. The additional room can be used to store a couch, bedroom furniture set and small chairs.

10×30 Units (300 sq. ft.): These units can store large vehicles, a large home’s contents or small boats in a simplistic fashion. Even so, you are still left with some room to spare for your furniture set or medium-sized items.

Vehicle Parking Spaces – Our storage facilities also come with covered, indoor and outdoor parking spaces for cars, R.V’s and boats. Our parking spaces provide clients with unparalleled luxuries such as 24-hour security and top-notch safety features just to mention a few.

Storage Insurance

While the items in our self storage facilities may not be in at home, having a valid homeowners’ insurance policy may help offset any damages or perils that may occur.

Personal Property Insurance for Items in a Storage Unit

Having a personal property insurance coverage may go a long way in protecting your items regardless of whether they are at home or not. This usually entails coverage against fire, vandalism, theft, and lightning.

It is always advisable to consult on your policy’s coverage so as to identify the specific types of risks covered.

Living in a Storage Unit

Why seek for shelter elsewhere with family or friends when you can easily live like a turtle in one of our well-maintained storage units?

Living like a Turtle

While living in a storage unit is neither safe nor advisable, it does happen for a number of valid reasons. According to a recent survey by SpareFoot, living in self-storage units is not new.

Sure, you are likely to get evicted if found living in one and likely face some charges if you have children. However, the ability to store your belongings with a roof over your head gives homeless people a sense of normalcy.

Storage PODS

For those in the dark, storage PODS are compact storage containers that can easily hold personal items depending on the size. In most cases, these PODS hold anything ranging from 2500 kgs going up.

They pack a number of great features such as optimum security, all-weather features, and steel-proofed doors just to mention a few.

With one of these PODS, you can be guaranteed that you are the only one holding the key to your POD. Once you rent a POD, we will drop it off at your home so that you can easily pack your belongings at your preferred speed.
